New Year, Random Thoughts

November and December are my busiest months by far. I assume December is for a lot of people with Xmas parties, real Xmas, shopping for Xmas. I get all that plus I travel for work for 4 weeks roughly plus have to see all my local customers. I am not complaining, I love my job and these trips are pretty good. Most guys aren't super into work, mostly talk about the holidays and have a nice meal as a thanks for the business! Plus my family lives 500KMS away so at some point make that drive and spend a couple days at home. Again not complaining it is all good but ya it does take it out of a guy! So I got that all done and came home and slept solid for 9 hours. Doesn't sound like a lot but my Fitbit told me 87% sleep score, usually hit a 75 and usually get lucky if it is 7 hours of sleep. So I guess I was tired, New Years next week but I am not doing anything crazy for that!!! I guess what I am saying is between all that I kind of fell behind on what I wanted to write. I did a blog ...

Edmonton, Murder and issues

Breaking my own rules real quick, this will be a real quick blog. Something happened last Friday and last weekend and it bugged me and it points out so many issues that I just gotta rant! I will touch on a few things "News Media" and journalism, social media, a little politics, Edmonton, gun control, the justice system and racism. Not really edited so sorry if it isn't the easiest read. Start with YEG wave, anyone else know who that is? I'll pretend you don't. They claim to be #1 in Alberta Culture and Entertainment pages. I personally found them because they have had news up on Edmonton way before the mainstream does. A quick scroll shows maybe it isn't culture they are into but crime and politics. I have seen them called racist online, that of course isn't true, let me explain. A view of their page and you can tell they are right leaning for sure. However nothing they post has been untrue. Also they rarely post anything of their thoughts just actual vide...

June Pop Culture!

So a quick pop culture blog, it has been a bit. I wanted to keep up to date. I mean soon part two of my trip will be up, just cant believe how long editing takes. Anyways here we go Ball hockey has been interesting. After an AWFUL last season they bumped us down a div. I played game 1, we won 7-2 and then I was gone on holidays. While I was gone we won all our games and got bumped back up. Since then we are 1-4. One of those is a forfeit since we had an Oiler game and no one showed. Maybe I am just bad luck... Actually I am having my best games ever. Most points per game I have ever had but we aren't winning. Here is the thing, a couple of our loses have been dramatic. Both times we were down 6-4. Both times we pulled our goalie and scored, then dominated for last 30 seconds. 30 seconds more and we would have tied the games. So I feel we are in the right div, just need to play harder. Would be nice to win a div again. Sadly still to low to get to provincials. I think I need to giv...

Canadian Justice failing... Again

I really wanted to get back to the series of blogs I have been trying to write. I am very close to being done my next couple entries but shit just keeps popping up. Somethings just blow my mind and the current failure of the Canadian justice system (once again) is making me rant! Again we see a tragic domestic situation, where a common law husband Kenneth Skelly, murders his common law wife. I am not even getting into that part of this story, but into Skelly father Joe. If you haven't heard the story Kenny murders his wife and takes her body to his dads house. I guess dad has a drinking problem and is drunk when son arrives. Son says "Hey dad, killed my wife what should we do?" Guess she has some distinct tattoos and they don't want her ID'd. So the brain trust decides, lets chop her up! What in the fuck is wrong with these people! Your kid comes to you with a body and you help chop it up??? For some context daddy was an ex butcher and he used an axe, boning knif...

September randos

So I started this one a month or more ago. Couldn't seem to fill it and then one day it all came tumbling out. There ended up being more Abpoli and Cdnpoli than I had planned. So I mean skip it if you don't want. Sure there is the normal comics, movies, games and such as well. I guess just a heads up, it is a real mixed bag and you may want to skip parts.... Or I guess if you are reading for the poli skip the gaming and TV lol. So I gotta hand it to Justin Trudeau, he actually trolled the right wing rather well. He wore a pink hoodie and took his son to Barbie. Also tagging it team Barbie. Of course some rightwing heads exploded, he's gay! No taking your son to see a movie and and wearing pink doesn't make you gay. Although it really comes off as trying to be a "cool single dad" since him and Sophies split. Anyways most Conservatives just hoped it was a spoof, it isn't of course and again the leader of Canada becomes an international laughing stock. My tho...

August Pop Culture & More

I am going to start out with how winning Edmonton is! Them Elks sure are doing good! Still no wins so far this season. Overall they are 7 - 33 since changing their name. I don't believe the universe works like this but it sure does seem go woke go broke.... They had more wins in their final season as the Esk than they have the entire time they have been the Elks. Also watching vids from K-days this year. What the hell Edmonton? While I have been writing a few entries to try and make this city and well the world in general a better place, then I watch videos from K days and think fuck it, its a damn cesspool just let it sink. Look out for number one and let idiots ruin everything for everyone. Like literally we can't even have a carnival without numerous fights and bear fucking spray. God damn we are embarrassing. Then I try and put it all aside and remember I have been to Kdays with friends when we were much younger and a fight broke out. Maybe these people that look like ass c...

Restaurant life OR my Vanderpump years Part 2

This is a part 2, it would probably be best to read part 1 first.  Was it the Sawmill that used to be over by the Blockbuster?? You know in Oliver square. I feel like a dinosaur asking that. That was were I had my first interview. The chef, I dunno what was wrong with him, about 5 times he said "You cook fast?" not even proper English, then "How fast?" They offered me a job, I said no. I couldn't imagine working there. However up 124 that chain restaurant from GP had a location in Edmonton and they also offered me a job. Simply based on GP experience. It was the owner here that told me GP was the busiest location and I might find this one slow. Instead of 5 or 6 guys working there might be 2 or 3. We didn't have a dishwasher, cooks were expected to do it. Oh and the kicker was this, $6/hour. I was taking +$3 pay cut and now I actually had bills. However I guess these would be my real "Vanderpump" years. So I have blogged about some of these people ...
