This blog took way to long. I don't even know the start date but an entire ball hockey season has happened since I started. The longest season of the year. So I am just going to post this. Sorry if it isn't well edited or has dated rants. I think I am done doing this kind of blog. I am actually enjoying blogging about a trip so I think that will be what I mainly do. If I am honest lately I feel like I have been spinning my wheels. Work, writing, failing in hockey. Haven't been doing school for a long time, I guess I feel like maybe I need a reset. Set some priorities and stick to them. SO in general writing I am focusing on one thing. School I am getting back into and work, well I guess I need to be hungry again, get that drive back. Not that anyone came here for my political insights or takes on pop culture. So I guess this is it for a bit, my last rants. Who would ever believe the that the Russians would win the Cold War? It seemed like we had them, the USSR broke apart but years later they still snuck in the win. The biggest thing would be who could imagine it would be a US president that handed them the win? That a president would distance himself from his oldest allies and back Russia. I can only imagine the men and women who died, who spent their entire lives fighting this war only to see a draft dodger let the Russians win.  They have to be rolling over in their graves. What's worse is so called Conservatives cheering him on. I don't know if I am more scared or sad. Scared about how stupid we have become as a society. That we now cheer for something we fought for decades. Or sad we have, hopefully only temporarily lost one of our greatest allies. I get it, Ukraine has been given a lot of money.  Ever kick a bee hive, I kicked a proverbial one on social media a couple days ago with a single post. Something about having an unelected Prime Minister in Canada. I wish at the point I did have the coffee mug that said Liberal Tears. People with names like Mr Woke or Mr Left started snapping.  Another quick entry, a break from my other writing for a current issue. Well, it is an issue that will continue for four more years. donnie trump is president again, why for fuck sakes?! We had him and Joe B, then Kamala snuck in, and this is the best USA had to offer for president? I saw a meme saying this is great; it is like watching the Fall of Rome but with Wifi, and god damn if that doesn't feel correct.  First, to 93% of trump supporters, you have nothing in common with him. While he sure paints himself as though he has you in mind, he doesn't. He is a grifter and jumped on the angry middle-American demographic. A LOT of people felt unheard. As we can see, every minority group gets special "days," "weeks," or even "months," and it isn't hard to understand where the frustration came from. November and December are my busiest months by far. I assume December is for a lot of people with Xmas parties, real Xmas, shopping for Xmas. I get all that plus I travel for work for 4 weeks roughly plus have to see all my local customers. I am not complaining, I love my job and these trips are pretty good. Most guys aren't super into work, mostly talk about the holidays and have a nice meal as a thanks for the business! Plus my family lives 500KMS away so at some point make that drive and spend a couple days at home. Again not complaining it is all good but ya it does take it out of a guy! So I got that all done and came home and slept solid for 9 hours. Doesn't sound like a lot but my Fitbit told me 87% sleep score, usually hit a 75 and usually get lucky if it is 7 hours of sleep. Breaking my own rules real quick, this will be a real quick blog. Something happened last Friday and last weekend and it bugged me and it points out so many issues that I just gotta rant! I will touch on a few things "News Media" and journalism, social media, a little politics, Edmonton, gun control, the justice system and racism. Not really edited so sorry if it isn't the easiest read. Start with YEG wave, anyone else know who that is? I'll pretend you don't. They claim to be #1 in Alberta Culture and Entertainment pages. I personally found them because they have had news up on Edmonton way before the mainstream does. A quick scroll shows maybe it isn't culture they are into but crime and politics.  The Olympics started. I remember when it was a big deal, grandpa recording it, like all of it on a massive VHS set. I still pay a bit of attention to the winter games but summer. Not so much. I am just going to go into the opening ceremonies for a second. I am not even religious, but man mocking Christians is the thing to do these days?? Look back over the last 20 years of opening ceremonies and you have some awesome shows. This was a shit show. Drag queens enacting The Last Supper. Then online I see clowns saying "Oh its not the last supper, its the feast of Dionysus and it is about the Greeks starting the games" No its not. Put those two paintings side by side with the ceremony and it is clearly the Last Supper. I can guarantee you wouldn't see them mocking Islam in an Islamic nation putting on the games.
