Moar random junk

Time to post this, I realize I started it a month or easily two months ago. A lot has happened over that time, so some of this is dated. It is easier to make quick entries like this right now so sadly for the next little bit I doubt I will be working on any travel blogs. The next two entries will be a two parter and MAYBE by the time they are up my life will be calmed down and I can get back to travel..... It is time for the X-Men to save the MCU. Ratings are down, we have super hero hangover even F4 didn't do amazing. Its time for the Phoenix Saga. They have tried with two terrible movies and it ended both X-Men runs. Time to do 20 movies like the Infinity Saga with Phoenix in the background until the final showdown with her as well, the villain. I want to see the original 5 in the first movie and yes Magneto as the villain. A few solo offshoot movies and Giant Sized X-Men is your first crossover. You can cover so many classic stories and please do Mutant Massacre, the whole MCU c...

Residential Schools

I have to say this article started June 26th. A lot of things came up and I didn't get it printed until now so some is dated BUT that doesn't change how I feel on this topic. So let's start off with my position on religion. I don't mind it, it isn't for me, but people seem to find strength and solace in it. SO all the power to them. Now my biggest issues comes with organized religion. It is just like people. A person is smart, a group is dumb. Same concept applies. A person can worship god whenever, wherever. Or that is what I have been told, it doesn't have to be in a church. So a person by themselves can be smart, church.... Now you have god involved and devotion to that will make people do AWFUL things. I am not saying that just for Catholics but ALL religions. So that's how I feel about that. Next lets talk about residential schools. These are in my opinion at least the WORST thing in Canadian history. I in no way support them. I think if they could find...

August Long

Promise for the last time I am going to rant about men's league ball hockey. Well at least for this season, or for awhile. I hate sandbaggers. It should be a rule if a person is good enough to compete in say div 4, they should not be allowed to play in 9. Now yes this would screw me a bit. My friend Cook wouldn't be allowed to sub, which I would miss but overall I think it would make the league better. Yes it might be bitterness BUT when a team is stacked it is lame. And I get wanting to pad points, but what kind of person wants to drop like that?? I prefer a challenge! Ya I wish I had more points but I wouldn't want to win games like I do on a video game.... It is August long.... Usually this is a HOT one but so far this AM looking grey out. (I am sure I won't finish this today and will be able to comment on the actual weather) I am supposed to go on a urban pedal tour. (The weather turned out fine, a bit windy later but a great day for a pedal tour! I also highly re...

Getting old!!

I am old! I turned 37 a couple days ago. I celebrated by y going out for dinner with friends and their kids. Oh and I took out a library book and went to the farmers market. My 20th Birthday was a 4 day bender which had highlights like getting 20 some people kicked out of a bar on Whyte Ave. A female friend sleeping with a guitarist from a semi famous Canadian band at a rock concert and showing Twig and Berries to some random chicks on a balcony on Canada Day. I got a fit bit for my birthday which is a cool present but it to made me feel old. It is super neat how I can scan in what I eat and drink and it will count calories and junk for me but as I take my diabetic pill again I realize at 20 I would not have paid attention to that. My work has always given employees $25 o the Bday, it used to buy me a two-six. This year I bought fresh peas, carrots a starbucks coffee and a dog dish. I realized also I have now lived in the Edmonton area for 18 years, 18! WTF! Now I moved here in 2000 ...

Sunday Morning Thoughts

I am getting old, I know it from the Rainmaker last night. First I went to the country night which I never likely would have done years prior. Second I found drunks annoying! I don't think I could handle a bar anymore. People spilling, people falling, people bumping into you. For some reason I used to like this! Now I will be honest the daisy duke parade was nice. However I a willing to bet half them girls or more were there to get white girl wasted more than see the acts. Also the guys made me laugh, lot of clean cowboy boots. Like they don't get worn much. Not that I should say much I don't even own cowboy boots. The lineup was good. I have never heard of Emo Leblanc, but he was good. I have to say the most actual country of all the bands. River Town Saints also was new to me, they are pretty damn good BUT they are totally new country. I mean when they started playing fiddy cent I laughed. Oh and them girls in Daisy Dukes started dancing like it was a rap video. Dan David...

2014 and beyond

January 17th 2014, currently was my last move. For anyone keeping score that is 14 moves in the 14 years I had lived in Edmonton. This time I moved to St. Albert. Also KTs was the single longest place I had lived anywhere in the last 14 years, so it was sad to go lotsa good memories there. On the bright side it was a crazy warm day for January. Like plus 10. The Frenchman, Bud and Diablo helped me move. Had a bit of a headache, the night before Tats had friends over that were in the living room until late. So even later Diablo came upstairs and we had a couple drinks and a last couple games of NHL hockey. But the day came and we were done early in the afternoon again. We did the normal thing and BBQd burgers and bought a flat of beer as she had some helpers too. However it wasn't like some of my moves. No one got super hammered, only Bud was actually there late. It didn't take long for me to be replaced. Only a week or two something unexpected happened. Bud moved into KTs. He...

Summer Holiday

So my 10 days off are wrapping up :(   I didn't manage to win the lotto so it will be back to work. It was actually a really good holiday. Got a lot done besides playing NHL2016 in the morning. So I guess I can write a small holiday fluff piece! First off I turned 36 on my holiday, gawd I am old what happened!! I did get taken out to Parlour for my Bday. If you haven't tried it you should. Great Italian food and good wine. Also went out for pho one night and had a drink on the Cactus Club Patio. Plus got out golfing twice. Dragonshead is a decent little par 3. Good if you want a quick round. Also did Duffys challenge. Much more like a real course (Still par 3) so good though. Rent a cart, it is worth it. Liked the first 9 so much paid the difference to do the back nine. And on he bright side got better with each round.... Maybe one day I will be ready for a real course lol. Seriously WTF Justin, I didn't wanna write much political and I wont but seriously in an address ...
