My daily commute, this is a pretty bland topic. It is a 15 minute drive. I leave
my house everyday around the same time. 710ish, depending on the morning poop
and such. Not just mine either sometimes I gotta wait for the dog to do his biz
too.
Anyway often I hit the Timmies a few blocks away. They are
good there, know my order and are fast and friendly. If it is a payday I stop
do my banking and whatever cant be done on my phone. Fun fact the intersection
from my house to the Timmies I wrote off my last truck. An F150 was totalled by
a Jeep. Broke my collar bone. He ran a red light and then had the nuts to ask
me at the cop shop if I wasn’t awake! Well you were found in the wrong!!
I often take the Henday. It is the quickest way and a nice
straight shot. Gonna put it out there it is a nice way to start the day. Sip a
coffee, have good music blaring and drive 110K. Put the mind in a good state to
deal with the day. Then I am at work, wow this has been a great topic.
But I will throw in I hate going to work in the winter.
First the roads including Henday on ramp can be slick as shit and even my good
truck slipped. And it is always dark. In the winter months I don’t see the sun
during the week. The spring is my favorite time to drive to work. On the one
over pass for about 1 month I see the sun rising over Edmonton and it is pretty
damn nice. Summer is good to but some of the magic of watching the sun rise is
gone cause well the sun is already up.
I take different ways home but 170 is pretty standard.
Usually gets me to any errands I might need to run. Safeway, Solo Liquor….. But
the train that comes on that road can cause road rage. I hate waiting for 15
minutes to move. On the Bright side smart phones all have games. I mean I did
once win an entire Risk game sitting and waiting on that damn train. Also to
all the asshats who go into the far lane speed up and try and pull to the front
of the line FACK YOU! I do take a sick and special happiness when people wont
let you in!
