Alberta Separation Referendum

I was working on another Alberta travel blog to put up while I work on my Euro trip blog, more than enough writing but then I realized how close the retard referendum is. I wasn't even going to rant on it but I just keep seeing it all over anything I look at online, so here goes.

First even if Alberta did separate I would hope you still aren't allowed to marry your attractive cousins. So you supporting it for this, just stop. This aint Utah.

There are 9 valid questions. Truth, I will likely vote YES on the entire first 9. If you look at immigration stats, it is mind blowing. The truth is our healthcare has sucked for decades! Decades! in the 90s I sat with a broken leg as a child for hours. No that's by no means life threatening but if a child can sit in an ER for hours 30 years ago and things have only gotten worse, we need something fixed. Same goes for any provincially funded service. To all the woke-tards this isn't racism, it isn't anything bad to want things fixed for the people who live here. Who pay the taxes that keep us running. We need to slow down the strain on our systems. As for the constitutional issues, yes judges on the provincial bench should be appointed here!! The senate should have been abolished or changed fucking years ago! Even as a child when I learned about the senate I struggled to understand why it wasn't voted in by the people. Questions 8 and 9 I need to look into more if I am up front. I don't like wordings that are unclear. I also hate voting on something I don't understand. THEN we get to question 10. Should we begin the process of separation. Get fucked, the answer is no!! If we dealt with a couple of these constitutional issues this whole movement wouldn't exist or at least wouldn't be so big!

Let's have a quick look at some of the main supporters of this shit. Jeffery Rath, no neck cospalying cowboy, grifter extraordinaire! If you really wanna know, he wasn't even born in Alberta. He played hero to many first nations bands. This is a good thing right?? He is a decent man for helping out, right? Well it kinda blew up on him now as he is getting sued in the ass for misuse of funds. He is a fucking grifter. He has claimed the USA is willing to help with $500 billion if we become a country, no one in the US government has actually said this happened. Or you get other faces like Marty Up North. This is such a common supporter it blows my mind. Again not born in Alberta, moved here commonly 90s - 2000s. Did well because of Albertas economic boom, 3 or 4 years ago had great takes on politics and now is having a meltdown and gone so far right that smart takes vanished, replaced by stupidity. I can say I do get it. This Liberal government has been a fucking nightmare. Nearly 11 years of woke BS. A decade of doing things for show rather than to make the nation better. The right wing was pissed for a decade and then grifters came along and said, hey lets separate! At the very heart of this, had the Cons won the last election and no one had heard of Mark Carney this movement wouldn't exist. Or if it did it would be like it always has been. On the far outside of Alberta.

My personal favorite is "Old Stock" Albertans. People who post I am a whatever number generation Albertan and this is why I think we should separate. Okay, okay lets play that game. First I can't even tell you what generation part of my family is here. We have been here since the Romans declared a point in Spain the edge of the world. Sadly writing shit down wasn't important to them, but hell lets just go back 200 years or about that much. One great grandpa a few time back established the Whitefish Lake mission and was one of the first indigenous grads of a Canadian college. Through him another cousin was a governor general of Alberta. There names are still neighbourhoods in Edmonton. Different grandpa was a prominent Hudson Bay man. He sold his river lot to the city of Edmonton, where the expo centre now sits. He has a neighborhood, school and roads named after him. Little closer in years my family has been involved in farming, logging and of course now oil. I myself work out of Edmonton but travel every quarter through all the small little towns and cities north of the capital. My great grandfather fought in WWI then came home and became a game warden and peace officer in the Peace country. His name is on a plaque in both Edmonton and Ottawa for dying in the line of duty. All this, a few hundred years in Alberta, lots of it before we were even a province. Don't tell me about pedigree. Fun facts, all cool at least to me but guess what, at the end of it NONE of it matters. Personally I feel it is like Canadian citizenship. If you have lived your entire life, in this province. Grown up here, worked here, lived here. Your opinion matters. New comers from a boom, meh. You came here for money not because of some draw to Alberta. People whose family has been here for generations, also meh. The past is the past. So that's me saying screw your pedigree.

Why doesn't it work?? First off, the cost. Does these people not realize HOW much money comes from the federal government. How many services are provided at that level and we would have to take it all on. Oh where will our army come from? Are we going to have passports? I mean we have to so..... The simple amount of money it takes to set up and run a nation is INSANE. Alberta isn't going to be a third world shit hole right?? It is gonna cost a lot to make sure it isn't. So then they yell equalization payments stop and oil will fund it! First off no, those payments will not make up for what needs done. Second I LOVE oil. It has been great for my family, hell its great for me. When it is going people are building and I am making money. When it is slow, the entire province suffers! We all hate old Trudeau right? He attacked oil right? I hate him ya but he did teach us a lesson. Without that income our "country" will be hurting. I am no doom and gloom guy, oil isnt going anywhere SOON but the world is slowly transitioning away. Yes we have a MASSIVE reserve and it will keep things going as long as the world demand is large but we need a way more diversified economy. Stop saying oil will hold us up, it won't not forever.

Another big point of that is wtf do you do with oil when your fucking landlocked!! Being landlocked sucks like a lot! Do you think Canada is just going to say, hey use the port of Vancouver? Maybe but the taxes and tariffs and anything they can do, they will. Your holding one card here.... Oh well go south to the states. WTF! Even more than separatists I hate separatists who support chump. As a whole nation we are struggling with tariffs, what do you think that administration will do to little Alberta? Do you really think they will support us? BAHAHAHAHA no. It will literally be become the 51st or suffer. Yes he will go and we will either get someone worse OR the Democrats win. They shut down the last pipeline project. Do you think they will support the new nation? Or do you think there will be major push back? Use your head. We will have no support around us, no international access and while it is a great card to have we only have one card to play. Again no thought into this just a temper tantrum.

I could go on and on about how dumb trying to create a new country is BUT instead I will say I agree with the thoughts behind it. 11 years of the Liberal government has been shit. Was Harper getting stale and old, a bit ya. Happens to anyone in power. Libs winning once wasn't a terrible thing. Just like NDP winning in Alberta wasn't terrible. Everything needs change BUT the Libs keep hanging on. They should have been gone last election. Numbers showed they might have fallen out of party status but the perfect storm of Castreau stepping down, trump being a dick made all these idiots run back to voting them in. The fact is they are performative. Everything is to show us how "woke" they are. Castreau was an actor that got nothing done except weed legalized. Hell they almost lost a nonconfidence vote, except the NDP sold out our country. They let immigration get out of control. It is not racist or xenophobic to say that. When systems start failing and we keep adding more and more people that don't need to be added, that's an issue. Don't confuse it, some people saying this are racist. Immigration does need controlled though, for some reason Castreau said fuck it lets flood the country! I could go on and on with the long list of liberal stupidity but it won't change anything. Had the libs lost we wouldn't be at this point. A major sticking point is that federally the elections are won and lost in the east. In the Maritimes. This isn't right, it leads to western alienation and to these wackos gaining momentum!

Bert is Con country, had they won even a minority we wouldn't be here now. If the election map was laid out fairly, we wouldn't be here. A small fire has been fanned massive. Outliers have been given a massive spotlight and I understand why. I don't support it but I understand it. Two things happened. Some "Rightwing" people showed their true colours. Like Marty, I used to think he was fairly smart not just a hateful bitch, yet here we are. Then this stupidity spread to many people, sadly. All of it could have been avoided with a fair system or a new government. I guess what makes me mad with these idiots is they aren't using their head. Instead of fixing what is broken they wanna have a tantrum and leave. Alberta Can't survive on its own. We are wasting time, we are wasting money. Listening to people like Rath is killing my brain cells. Instead of fixing a problem, these clowns are making things worse.

I could go on and on. I won't, and sorry if it isnt edited well. The referendum is coming. Vote yes to the first 9. Then shut these idiots down. Lets get to work on fixing the problems, not making them worse. PS to the people who say vote yes to separate because this is just a vote to get it started, show them we mean business. Nah thats stupid thinking, you dont put in just the tip FFS.

Edmonton / Highway of Tears

This was going to be a small paragraph in a bigger random blog but it grew really fast and the fact is I thought it was rather interesting so it will be post of its own. I decided to add some of these womens names. I once heard a pod about Jack the Rippers victims, that humanized them. I think thats what should be done, why glorify freak shows and forget about the people who suffered because of them. Also I added a bit more as I was just going to, just quickly mention Edmonton but I think it is bigger than that. Also still cannot find a legit decent looking charity to donate to for MMIWG.... Msg me if you know one! IS there a serial killer in Edmonton? Or was there one active? On another long drive home I came across podcasts on EPS, which led to pods on what they called the Edmonton - Leduc murders. Which if you have been around Edmonton for awhile I know you have heard of. I just was unaware of the amount and length of time this had been going on. First thing though not all these mur...

Alberta Politics Pre 2019 election

Ahh that lovely time every few years when we see the worst in all people is upon us! That's right elections are coming! The brutal truth is both federally and provincially we are going to see shit get nasty. From both sides, let's not pretend anyone is innocent. This is all I am going to say on politics for awhile, at least until elections OR if something crazy happens. I really need to concentrate on actual writing. Not twitter bickering with people. So here is it my thoughts on the current federal and provincial politics. (Breaking this into 2 parts. This one is going to be just media and Alberta) First let's start with the sideliners. The media and the peanut gallery. Rebel Media OR Chicken little media. Whichever you want to call them is fine by me. It has been years now I was blocked for using common sense or not drinking the Kool-aid by Ezzie and the Rebel account. I can say I never dropped into name calling or anything like that with either, but I guess not believi...

Part 3 Addiction

So, I have stated first, we need the correct systems in place, and second, we need healthy citizens for a better society. One of the root problems in society, though, is addiction. A mental health problem that can lead to so much more. Family violence, crime, homelessness, job loss, and on and on. There is no cure for addiction. There is management, and there are many things we can do much better to help addicts and society. So, let's tackle this one next.  I like drinking! I like the taste of a good whiskey or red wine. Or the supposed "no taste" of good vodka. I like that little boost of confidence that tells me, hell ya, you can dance! Or the fact that, yes, after a long day, it does take an edge off. I have a ton of great memories of times when booze was around... The flip side of that is I'm not too fond of hangovers. I hate not knowing what happened the night before; I guess there is a term for this now: hangxiety. Some of my worst memories and things I hate abo...
