I can still taste the bitter defeat from yesterday. When a very under preforming USA defeat Canada in the gold medal mens hockey game. No sports is never about who deserves it, in this case its about who gets the most goals and the states did but they did not deserve it!! 4 nations USA was scary, they played well. Olympics except for maybe 3 minutes in the first period they did not look like a pro team. They looked like beer leaguers against an NHL squad. However in a single game Hellebuyck should have won tournament MVP. 41 saves and .976 save %. Any other day and Canada wins that 4 or 5-1 for sure. Stopping breakaways by McDavid and Cellebrini. That save on Devon Toews is iconic and his stick stopping that will go down as an all time great hockey pic. Also Mackinnon forgetting his is one of the worlds elite players and shooting on an open net like I do is going to haunt him for a long time!! Not going to blame them but the reffing was awful. I guess counting too many men is hard?? Also 3 Vs 3 OT is a joke. Do I blame that for the loss, no. When your 3 is McDavid, Mackinnon and Makar how much better 3 game you get?? In the end we got goalied, it happens. Hell its often how teams win the Stanley Cup. The goalie just hits a stride and carries the team.... But sure lets toss out some blame. First no Crosby! Played my first game of ball hockey in roughly 3 months last night. Sore AF today but thats a good thing. We lost so that sucked. I got a goal and an assist so that was good. I think we are in the right div. A win, a loss and a tie so far.... Now half the season is over 2-3-3. We are in the right div for sure, we didnt go up or down at the half point. of our 3 loses 2 were 1 goal games. The truth is we could easily be 8-0 or 0-8. Everyone in the div is so close. If we get our shit together we could honestly win the div but who knows. Our rotating cast of players never helps. Personally I am happy with my play. Above my average for for point per game. (I understand we all are middle aged with commitments but damn! Would be great to have same linemates for a couple games in a row) I feel like this is the right div and hopefully we can stay here for a season or two! Maybe win a season again finally!

My wife loves the series The Crown on Netflix. I don't mind parts of it. Prince Daemon from HoTD is awesome as always. I have also always enjoyed family trees. (I like maps to maybe it is a thing, I like skwiggly lines) So how these people are all tied up for 100s of years is neat. Thats right I said neat. There is a straight line from him to this whole country rap that spotify tries to push on me. I will say ya, I like Yelawolf and Jellyroll has hit it big but they don't exist without Kid Rock. Even if his image is fake and he isn't country or the everyman he tries to be. His parents are rich, had he failed anymore he would be a used car salesman at the family dealership. He looks like one. Stranger Things really was a masterpiece. Watched the finale and then wife said lets watch the whole series from the start. I thought I hated season 2 but honestly it was just one corny episode. On a rewatch it is crazy to see how many callbacks there actually are in the finale and the final season in general. There are some gapping plot holes yes but in general they did a great job of tying everything together. Season 4 was peak!! Dear Billy has to be one of the best episodes of TV ever. Now I move on but damn that was good!
SO I have tried to get into Sanctuary. It would be a show right up my alley but for some reason I can't. I find myself drifting off to sleep. SO then I restarted Peaky Blinder which I love but can't get into. Almost done a rewatch of Justified but don't wanna finish so finally started current shows. As of this second 3 episodes of a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are out. I knew who Egg was but the last scene of episode 3 was epic. Thought that might take a bit of time before that reveal but damn!! Also started season 2 of Fallout, anything with Goggins will be good! So powered thru Fallout, another decent season. Almost makes me wish I played the games BUT I didnt realize the first one was from the 90s! Also started The Beauty. Based on the Ignition Press comic. Its interesting for sure, its Ryan Murphy in "horror" so thats getting tired. AHS was gold at the start but a lot of his stuff just feels like a rip of that. Of course Starring Evan Peters who rarely disappoints. Full thoughts when season is done cause right now it feels like it could go either way. Dark Winds started again, it is so good-ish. It feels like True Detective Season 1, classic TV but just not there. Just slightly shy. I can't put my finger on it. Honestly I think it is just AMC and not HBO. While AMC has made some amazing TV if Dark Winds was HBO I think it would be a massive hit!
Saw Moulin Rouge in theatre and damn it was pretty good. Lots of energy, lots of great songs and crazy costumes. Worth seeing if you can. Made me want to open a speak easy, with a burlesque show! I do miss when going to something like this was an event though. People used to get dressed up, and some still are and other looks like shit. Sorry not sorry. Ironic that this play about mixing upper class and bohemian people would bring this thought up. I have been broke and not into plays and shit BUT even then if I was going to something, I would at least try and clean up. No you don't need a suit and top hat but dude at least try. Comics are killing me. Not really but wow got a few over the last few months. I hadn't filed away in awhile and it was a task! There are some amazing titles right now. First Worldtree is back and while I am like WTF when it skips around time it has been a great red. Ignition Press is on fire. Any title by them just pick it up and give it a go. They are my new AWA. For many years I loved AWA honestly now I cant handle them. I know comics are metaphors but they have become just a boring blunt hammer. Xmen had a slow run with AoR, it started so well and went pffffttt. However it did set up hopefully some good stories. Batman has been great as well, maybe too many titles going. Absolute is probably the best new series out there but with 4 titles of just Batman let alone the batfam it is getting insane! American Caper is amazing. You want a good look at America both "sides" right now. This is it.

What am I reading? Well listening to Green Lights still. Almost done and it was a great book. While I give Matt Mcconaughey a lot of respect there are a couple times when I have to laugh, some of the things he says and does he forgets he has millions which make life easy. Admit he chased shit when he didnt have millions, so I can give him respect but a couple times I just have had to shake my head. About to listen to Sunrise on the Reaping. I have heard it is amazing. Never did finish Devil in the White City. It really doesnt hold my attention. My wife bought me Easy Street, Ron Perlmans autobiography. Read the first couple chapters and enjoyed so far. Never nearly go done Livys history of Rome. I want to but damn that is a lot!!

So, my pay structure was changed. I will not get into it. I feel it was done wrong and some things were very unfair BUT I won't get into it. I will say if I make them money now, it really pays off for me. HOWEVER if I don't it sucks. No it isn't terrible but it is substantially less than what I am used to. I got my first cheque and I made them a decent chunk of change. SO my cheque was damn good. Now however I need to remember to save more, make sure my account doesn't go down. It might seem amazing but eyes on the future. Also they changed the pay day which sucks ass! I had everything the way I liked it and it is still fine but need to make sure I put some aside for bills and such. I am bitching over a first world problem. THIS year at least I am guaranteed a certain amount and it is a good amount, I know I will go over it so that is great but my biggest worry right now is not being a fool when I see "Hey that looks like good $$$ in the bank!" and well the future 2027 and beyond.
Gonna end with the Gold Medal game.... We lost, I have ranted that but I do wanna say congrats to team USA, they did win. The picture of Hellebuyck stopping Toews is amazing, I hate it yes but damn what a beaut. Also Jack Hughes on the rink, bloody mouth draped in a flag, also iconic! I think I liket he Hughes brothers a lot more than the chuks. Ordering beers during the presser after the game. Not talking about himself but how good his team was and how great it was to play with them all pure class! The interviews later on when they had clearly been "enjoying" winning also amazing. So congrats on that... still hate you guys!
