Decriminalization of hard drugs

See kids drugs are bad, if you don't believe me ask your dad..... This is another quick blog that was a tweet that grew too long. Also starting it saying I know I am a hypocrite.  Everyone has vices. I really like whiskey, that amber fluid is tasty. I don't drink it anymore cause I know I can be a dick when I do. I like throwing $20 into a slot machine if I have the chance and I can afford it. What I am getting at is I am not letting vice take over my life. I am just saying I know I have them so judging others vices maybe I shouldn't but this is my damn blog and Ill judge all I want!! First booze is bad, maybe as bad as a lot of drugs. There is a reason we have police at night clubs. If booze was gone probably less drunken brawls and crimes. Probably domestic violence goes down and well drunk driving isn't an issue anymore. I am getting at booze really is a drug, it can be an addiction and yes in a completely fair world it should be outlawed to as it is dangerous as ha...

Edmonton City Centre and police

Every month I donate to a local animal charity, as I like animals much more than people. However I also choose 1 random charity to donate to as well. Something I feel is important, 12 charities randomly important to me, a year. NOW this isn't 100% altruistic. I do get to feel good doing something & there is a benefit at tax time. Fun fact I miss when rich people actually donated their money to decent causes instead of doing a rich guy space race. In true capitalism the wealthy were supposed to donate to keep society going and government was to back off and not have to tax as much because those who could help would. Seems like all "thinkers" they forgot to think about human greed. This little side rant is just saying IF more people who could gave a little more maybe the world would be a better place?? All the right wing nuts saying down with big government and taxes.... Did you ever think about this?? Truth and reconciliation, the pope coming all this I think is kind ...

The Woke disease and more

Wokeness is a disease. I have 0 problem stating the truth. The fact is the meaning if you google is alert to injustice, especially racism. Now that in itself is GOOD! I would HOPE most of us can agree on that. It has just went way past that. It has become self righteous virtue signaling. That basically the world should now be a free for all and if we don't accept everything everyone says or feels we are bad! The irony is the woke people won't wokely accept the people who don't agree with them. I thought that was the whole thing or the basis of it, acceptance. Plainly not everything is racist or homophobic. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a Nazi. First off wokeness can only exist because we live in the free world. The very fact that freedom lets it exist to assault other peoples freedoms is ironic. Also this might not be a popular thing to say but people don't have to accept others. People should be allowed to believe what they want. NOW saying that doesn't me...

Racism

Welp Derek Chauvin is guilty of murdering George Floyd. He is, I am not going to say otherwise, had he not been kneeling on George there is a fairly good chance George would still be alive today. I am not about to say what he would be doing because like pretty much every murder victim with a shady past I have heard he was a saint and I have heard he was still a criminal. The fact is he had meth and fentanyl in his system when he died. Law abiding citizens should not have that in their systems.... But no that doesn't mean he deserved what happened, I am simply pointing out facts. So much of this case hasn't really dealt with facts but with emotions. While we are on the emotion part here, Derek was never going to get a "fair" trial. This incident polarized a nation, hell it polarized the western world. 12 Trumptards and he might have walked free. Again I agree with the conviction I am just stating all the facts.... Everyone has heard and formed opinions on this case. A...

Random rants

So this one took a bit longer than I thought started a few weeks back. Between pup, school and such haven't had a chance to write as much sorry if some is dated....  So I made some people angry this week, online. Again. Edmonton had a COLD snap! I think it was record breaking. Our city put out emergency extreme weather plans for the homeless, which is a good idea. I am sure people could die pretty quick in this shit. Our furnace broke down and that was bad enough, I could not imagine being out in it. That's the background, now some more background. Edmonton's woke and hip progressive mayor Don wants us all to use the LRT to bike, to lower our TINY carbon footprint. I guess that's a noble goal. I mean it will mean nothing if the major nations don't but hey might as well try. I hate the LRT. In general its dirty and doesn't feel safe at night. Anyways if your from Edmonton you know where this is going. In the bitter cold the police kicked some homeless people out ...

Robert "Willie" Pickton

This entry isn't really pop culture, so sorry while I have turned over a new leaf I promise. There are still things I want / need to say. Also this one is oh 13 years behind. I started listening to a  new podcast. Canadian True Crime. (So maybe this was inspired by pop culture I guess) Anyways I had listened to one on the Black Donnelly murders, 140 years ago if you know about them. If not they are actually fairly interesting and you should look them up. I am back travelling and had enough drive time to listen to the 4 parter on Robert Pickton. The fact is I would have thought I knew about this but I really didn't pay attention to it until, well today. So 13 years behind. I am going to try and not be offensive but I do have some things to say about this crazy true crime saga that may not be the most popular to hear. I do want it to be noted this is totally based off the info from the podcast. If I am missing something, I pre apologize. In fact I do think I will try and buy a bo...

Police, Comics and taxes!

I was reading a thread on Twitter again that got me scratching my head. About the Edmonton city police. Let me say I have no feelings on cops good or bad, really they are a none issue to me. Growing up in GP we only had the RCMP and they were great. Reasonable and fair. Ill say it I like the RCMP. Then I moved to Edmonton and a couple times I have been rather angry with the EPS. Like when I called in a stolen car and nothing was ever done. Or when two big cops used a friends head to open Essies bar door. She was just a tiny little woman BTW. But living and working in Ingewood, Queen Mary and Central McDougall I have seen really good cops to. So to me I guess it is like anything you can have good and you can have bad. Plus I will freely admit I "banged" Fuck the Police. I was one of them whit kids who thought Ice Cube was bad ass and it made suburban whites feel tough. It was years later I learned the actual reason for the song and still respect it. Anyways the whole thing w...
