Mexico days 10,11&12

We set an alarm but we didn't need it, of course we were up before it. I think I was excited, to finally get a chance to see ruins. Again a buffet breakfast, the truth is I am lucky, I have good metabolism I guess. My weight never changed even though I ate very well each day!! But I made sure I was good to go this morning. Also push a coffee in me so I can push whatever out of me and not be off looking for a washroom wherever we were headed.  So we got a private tour. It wasn’t on purpose but we booked an excursion to a Cenote and Ek Balam ruins and no one else did so it was just me and the wife in the van. I would have been sketched out driving off into the jungle except it was a well marked tour van. Our tour guides' name was Hugo, he was great. Very knowledgeable with any questions I had. He said he had been a university professor earlier in life. Now that makes me wonder about Mexico. If it is a better life to end up a tour guide over a prof? The fact was he was decen

Mexico Days 8&9

So our last day altogether began same as always. A shower and a trip to the buffet. I have to be honest and say this was the only day we didn't leave tip money in the room. We were always putting $2 in the bar and $3 American on the bed. This day we didn't, how do people feel on that? Like what do you do? Anyways that is what I wonder, I am still not 100% sure on the correct tipping scales in Mexico. We headed to the buffet and ate but we were to early. We had a "FINAL" for real appointment to get our pics. They photo places wasn't open still for over an hour, so you guessed it.... We killed time by going to the hacienda one last time. The fact was it REALLY was just to kill time. I don't think we even looked at anything, just an aimless wander. Then we went back and got our photos. They gave us a drive with all of them and a picture book. It is actually very well done. I have to say my doubts were gone, it might be wrong but I didn't think a resort photog

Xmas 2018

I wasn’t going to do a Xmas blog. I think I have every year and they are always pretty similar, but driving to work today I figured screw it lets do another. Then it was actually busy at work, which pisses me off when it cuts into my writing time! Like WTF people just cause I am here doesn’t mean I am ready to work. Basically I am saying I wasn’t gonna do a blog, changed my mind to do it and now am annoyed people WANT ME TO DO THE JOB I AM PAID FOR! Instead of blogging. Need some airing of the grievances first. People have literally started bitching about carols. Seriously fuck off. That’s your biggest problem in the world, you got a pretty good life!! Also still bitter about the Happy Holidays bullshit or holiday concerts at schools rather than Merry Christmas and Christmas Concerts. See it doesn’t hurt you if I say Merry Christmas, you can feel free to say happy holidays or whatever you want. Just don’t be a bitch The whole point of the season is peace on earth and good will to

Mexico days 5,6,7

Woke up my first day married, in a king sized bed in Mexico. Not a bad way to start the day. Room service knocked shortly after that. They serve breakfast in bed, the day after a wedding. It is a nice gesture, but there isn't much to it. Fresh fruit and some pastries. I had a couple bites and we were on our way to the buffet.Well actually I had to walk to the Frenchmans room to get my toothbrush, pit stick and all that kind of stuff because I got ready in his room the day before. Amazing let me in and gave it to me. But no one else was moving, not even the kids who were usually up and running by now! For the first time we weren't up early, but no one else was either. Well that's not quite true, we ran into my wife's cousin Show and ate with her. People trickled in and we did meet up with in-laws and a few others. Also Biggs girlfriend had just finished eating by herself. We invited her to eat or sit but I think she wanted to see how he was doing. I guess my brother was

Wedding Day

I can hear the opening to 8 mile this AM. Except I don't think I looked calm and ready. Woke up early on the day of my wedding. So did my bride, ya we slept in the same room together the night before which lots of people were saying we shouldn't have! I dunno why, I mean we have been sleeping in same bed for 5 years now and weekends for years before that. Anyways I showered early and said my good bye next time I was gonna see her she would be walking down the aisle. My friends all told me not to eat breakfast alone that morning. So I wasn't going to, but it was too early for me to bug people yet so I wandered the resort. I won't lie and say I had some deep thoughts. I looked at the ocean, people watched and waited until I thought the Frenchman and family would be up for eating. I ate with them and basically for the next few hours became a cling on. We saw Biggs and his girlfriend at breakfast, since it would be just Frenchman and I getting ready that AM we figured to

Mexico Trip Day 1-3

Just a heads up again. Some people will be referenced that you likely need to read autobiography entries to know. You don't need to actually do tat but it might help. So the bags were packed and ready the night before. The house sitter had arrived and was asleep when the limo showed up. 4 AM I believe. It had been forever since I rode in a limo. In fact just recently I was reminded that last time I rode in one I may have puked all over it..... But the driver was great (this time) he packed our suitcases in and we were off. Limos are nice, part of me wished I had brought stuff for mimosas but I didn't so me and the wife to be, rode out to the airport. I am not the most romantic guy but I liked the ride. I think she did to. We were supposed to practice our vows but instead just chatted. It was on that drive that it really hit me I was off to Mexico to get married! We weren't even the first there. Some of our group had arrived. There was a tiny hiccup at check in. They

Mexico!

AH Mexico! I love it, been there 4 times I can remember and once when I was young. Have the pics but don't remember the trip back then. I have haggled and won and likely lost in markets. Been to clubs and seen the heritage sites like ruins... Stayed in condos and resorts. Had guns pulled on me, all in all seen a few things and I know there is WAY more I could still see. Anyways what I have thought is going to be below and then afterwards I am going to post a few more blogs detailing my recent trip over the next couple weeks, if you wanna come back and read some more. Its a long haul to get there. Cancun is almost 6 hour flight. I suggest arrive early, have a drink and some food because no matter what airplane foods sucks. For the love of god, get a poop out before you go! I hate pooping on planes, did it for the first time two weeks ago and never again. Plus the line up to get into the cramped little room is always crazy. So get done what you can before you get on that plane. Bri
