A Quick Christmas Rant!

2 days away! My favorite holiday! At least until my birthday is recognized as a national holiday.

But either way it is almost Christmas. Wanna know why it is my favorite holiday? Peace on Earth and good will to men. If my history books and Hollywood have taught me anything it is that even the most evil Nazis put down the guns and had a day of peace. I think even most criminals take the day off. So there we have it peace on Earth good will to men.

I am gonna do a bit of bitching. This whole what to say political correctness is just fucking dumb. I say Merry Christmas. Just fucking let me say it. If you don't like it then ignore it. If you wanna be a bitch and not offend someone say happy holidays. I wont hold it against you. Say happy Jew day or whatever Muslims says. Just say it, be merry and let everyone else be merry in their own way.

Presents are great, giving and getting. It is fun to watch people open things specially when you get them something they really like. Don't lie it is fun to open them to. Getting that thing you really wanted. I love the Christmas chaos at the malls to. It is the one time I don't mind shopping even if the parking is shit! BUT even better and more important is......

Friends and family! Lets face it, you're gonna over eat and likely if you're a friend of mine over indulge to. Thing is you get to do it with the people most important to you! First you have work Christmas parties. You might not like some of the people you work with but for 1 night a year MOST people can at least fake get along. (Other than the random drunken brawls). We in my circle have friends Xmas. I didn't realize but we have been doing this for close to a decade now. A big ass pot luck, a deep fried turkey, a Chinese gift exchange (Why is it Chinese and do you think the Chinese like that name? A game based around stealing gifts. Like couldn't it be a Jewish gift swap?) Booze, games and Saturday night hockey.  Then in all honesty the best is family. Sitting around eating a great breakfast, having that amazing dinner..... For many years I also had a tradition with my uncle over boozing and spending boxing day on my grandpas couch watching movie marathons. FUCK Boxing day shopping.

It a wonder I ain't 500 lbs. Christmas food is awesome. Egg nog and Oranges and toffiaffe however it is spelt!

World Junior Hockey! Starts Boxing Day. Hockey that is by people who still are playing for the love of the game only at X mas!

Snow! I dunno why it is the one day I want a white out. It can be minus fourty and flurries look nice. Maybe I do have a heart.

Elf, the best Christmas movie ever! Muppets X mas close second and everyone loves the Griswolds, gremlins is a Christmas movie admit it and move on! Also I can put up with Home Alone, The Santa Clause movies, both Grinch movies and that awful claymation from whenever. Although Santa and the other reindeer's are kinda giant cocksuckers it is a classic. Charlie Brown is meh...

Last thing is charity. I admit it I didn't do as much as I did last year. But everyone seems to be a little more giving. The holidays bring out the best in people. I don't make New Years resolutions but my Christmas Resolution is to do more good next year.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Edmonton / Highway of Tears

This was going to be a small paragraph in a bigger random blog but it grew really fast and the fact is I thought it was rather interesting so it will be post of its own. I decided to add some of these womens names. I once heard a pod about Jack the Rippers victims, that humanized them. I think thats what should be done, why glorify freak shows and forget about the people who suffered because of them. Also I added a bit more as I was just going to, just quickly mention Edmonton but I think it is bigger than that. Also still cannot find a legit decent looking charity to donate to for MMIWG.... Msg me if you know one! IS there a serial killer in Edmonton? Or was there one active? On another long drive home I came across podcasts on EPS, which led to pods on what they called the Edmonton - Leduc murders. Which if you have been around Edmonton for awhile I know you have heard of. I just was unaware of the amount and length of time this had been going on. First thing though not all these mur...

Alberta Politics Pre 2019 election

Ahh that lovely time every few years when we see the worst in all people is upon us! That's right elections are coming! The brutal truth is both federally and provincially we are going to see shit get nasty. From both sides, let's not pretend anyone is innocent. This is all I am going to say on politics for awhile, at least until elections OR if something crazy happens. I really need to concentrate on actual writing. Not twitter bickering with people. So here is it my thoughts on the current federal and provincial politics. (Breaking this into 2 parts. This one is going to be just media and Alberta) First let's start with the sideliners. The media and the peanut gallery. Rebel Media OR Chicken little media. Whichever you want to call them is fine by me. It has been years now I was blocked for using common sense or not drinking the Kool-aid by Ezzie and the Rebel account. I can say I never dropped into name calling or anything like that with either, but I guess not believi...

Part 3 Addiction

So, I have stated first, we need the correct systems in place, and second, we need healthy citizens for a better society. One of the root problems in society, though, is addiction. A mental health problem that can lead to so much more. Family violence, crime, homelessness, job loss, and on and on. There is no cure for addiction. There is management, and there are many things we can do much better to help addicts and society. So, let's tackle this one next.  I like drinking! I like the taste of a good whiskey or red wine. Or the supposed "no taste" of good vodka. I like that little boost of confidence that tells me, hell ya, you can dance! Or the fact that, yes, after a long day, it does take an edge off. I have a ton of great memories of times when booze was around... The flip side of that is I'm not too fond of hangovers. I hate not knowing what happened the night before; I guess there is a term for this now: hangxiety. Some of my worst memories and things I hate abo...
