One day when people look back and want to know what 2015 was like. This here will be my take on it! It may or may not be "correct" but here is a small part of my understanding of the last year.
Some Random Events - Greece went broke, how a whole country does that I dunno. Ireland made same sex marriage legal! Good job you drunken bastards! The US supreme court followed that up to. Baltimore had riots when yet another person died in police custody. Yes these incidents should be looked into. Police are not above the law. But if you are looting you're part of the problem. After another tragic shooting, the south was forced to take down confederate flags. Really?! Cause that will eliminate bigotry.
Alberta is reactionary - Straight up my beloved province is reactionary. Lets be honest, the PC Alberta government was at worst a fat bloated over self indulgent beast. At best it was a government letting Alberta be Alberta. They needed to go and that ass Jim Prentice made sure it happened. He embodied all that everyone hated about his government and he pissed Alberta off. So we as a people reacted and booted them out. We as a province have no animal or sigil Game of Thrones style (We should get one, just sayin) but if we did it would be an aggressive animal. And the PCs kicked it in the balls one to many times. It bit back, hard. As everyone now knows the PC beast was killed. The exact opposite came to power. I know we would all love to blame city hipsters who have no real idea about the people who work hours on end to make this province great for voting in the NDP but it wasn't. It was our whole province voting out the PC. I am not about to get into my views, whether I like it or not the NDP has 4 years. I have my told you so sign ready. But for the future Alberta can maybe take a lesson our province is reactionary.
No one reads blogs - Seriously no one does or not mine. Personal beef here I started this blog, this year. Every second or third day I check and nope there is no amazing amount. I advertise on twitter and I think that might be the only way people end up here. So my idea on New Years is to grow a set and put this up on Facebook. Maybe that will help as only hashtag Disney has before.
Paris Attacks - Not once but twice cowards attacked Paris. I did a blog on Terror already so i wont get into it but FUCK ISIS. Fuck anyone who attacks the West and takes innocent lives. Rest in Peace to those who lost their lives.
Deb Drever - The NDP won, in Alberta, seriously. Did anyone see that coming? Is King Ralph rolling over in his grave? Likely. But anyways we aren't getting into that. The NDP winning brought a whole new set of faces to our government. I do have to say some SEEM very under qualified. Again we shall see but I wanna rant about Deb Drever! I mean I already did but lets just have one last word on her. Stupid, there that's the word. All the media and shit about her who cares. She was a silly youth, we all were or most people did a few silly things. I know I would hate for facebook pics to be how the world judges me. Here is the thing, I can live with all her dumb pics. Weed, beer and a shitty album cover. The whole flipping the bird to the flag though WTF. When you want to be in politics you really shouldn't be giving the bird to our country. Then her doodles about PC members being "homos" really show she isn't ready to be in the legislature but maybe that's just me. But we voted em in!!! Way to be!
Connor McJesus - So once in a generation an NHL star comes around who will change hockey. Remember Eric Lindros? Well he didn't but he was supposed to. Sid the Kid? Lets not lie like him or not when he is playing he is a beast. He did score the golden goal. Ovi, ya he has proven he can score BUT he still has 0 cup rings. IF you lived in Edmonton you would have been led to believe Hall should be the next big thing. He is supposedly the biggest douche in Edmonton but I will say he is good. Not hockey changing good and lets have a quick look at Seguin that we could have picked... But good. The we were told that about The Nug, and Yak. While I personally believe on The Kings or some team like the Caps he would be a 50 goal man here he is meh at best. Now is the time of McJesus and I am a believer! Before his injury he was lighting a fire in the Oilers and making not only Yak but the whole team better. Then came the hit. Was it dirty or an attempt to injure a young player lets hope not. Lets hope for his speedy return, he may not get the Calder trophy but maybe he can return Lord Stanleys Cup to this great hockey city!
Disneyland! - Best Place Ever! Walt was a smart man. In the park I read he built it as a fun place for families to go in L.A. I believe him, as a fun side not he told Scientology to fuck off. He did build the happiest place on earth. Let me be clear, I was a sceptic. I honestly thought it would be like a county fair. I thought 4 days would be overkill. That by day 3 I would be wanting to hang out at the hotel pool. 4 days was NOT enough time! Not for a first timer at least. I cannot say enough about it. I mean I did blog about it already but as a closing here is my top rides. Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, Soaring over Cali, Cars and maybe the haunted mansion. The shows, the food, the rides it is my current favorite place on earth! Dismaland is garbage by the way. An angry 15 - 23 year old Tavis might have thought it was cool as I have grown up I have lost some respect for unclever satire.
Election Canada - Put the traitors in order of evilness. Judas, Walder Frey and Atlantic Canada. That's right Atlantic Canada wins. You were all SO happy to come here and work. To make the big Alberta $$$ and take it home. Then oil went down. Yes the golden goose is cooked for awhile. SO you threw your vote against Alberta, really? Well when oil goes back up and yes it will you're not welcome back. I would happily take a Mexican, a Philipino anyone who values loyalty. But that's not my big beef. My biggest beef is the election was a farce. It wasn't about parties it was about the leaders. People delighted in painting Harper as Hitler. Justin as a young fool. (I still think he is but...) Tom as well I don't even know what a crazy commie. None were accurate and it became more about attacks than issues. The one lesson all parties need to learn from both Federal and Alberta Elections is social media is the future. It was a huge part in the toppling of the Alberta giant AND it very much swayed to vote out Harper as online he is the devil.
Pray away the diddle - Reality TV sucks. Basically Survivor created a genre that sucks. It started not bad but has gone off the rails down fucking hill. Now every freak can be on TV. Like seriously obese people, people in arranged marriages, midgets, sister wives and the worst of them all The Kardasian family. I see next year is starting off even worse a Rap Game show. Just stop please. But right from the get go I said the whole Duggar family was a bunch of freaks. Turns out I was right. So the oldest brother not only molested girls but it was his own sisters! So child molestation and incest but god is okay with that?? The fact the parents knew is the worst fact. And they covered it up! Freaks! On top of that they tried to pray it away. Oh plus a devout religious person is caught cheating too, wow. The dude has a sex addiction. Lets not judge, I mean whatever you wanna do in your own bedroom is fine. I stand behind that fact. IF NO ONE IS HURT!! You got a guy who isn't above touching his own sisters. You cant pray it away, he needs help. But ole Jim Bob not stepping in? What is wrong with you people? I ain't got a daughter, but if I did I don't think I would be okay with that. If these people were actually religious this would have been dealt with along time ago.
Trampede - Alexis Frulling the wanna be pornstar! I dunno how big the Calgary Stampede actually is but I heard it is worldwide. Alexis took advantage of that by getting double teamed in an alley. Listen hoe bag no one believes you. It wasn't a moment of passion, you coulda went home or went to pound town in a fuck truck! You wanted people to see. Hoping for 15 minutes?? Well she got it and hated it. And it went by fast cause no one has heard of her since her tour of Alberta strip clubs.
Dogs are expensive - My pup is almost 2 years old now. He cost just under a grand. That's just life if you want a pet. Then the real expenses start. Food, hell even the cheapest kibble isn't cheap. Toys, yup all dogs need toys. Now some people pay for grooming, I wont do that BUT you do need a tooth brush, nail clippers and so on. You wanna spay or nutter them? Theres a few hundy. My bud had a bad tooth that had to be pulled. Basic check ups are 100 yearly plus registration. My buddy of course had bad blood work so that led to more tests. Then the big one a night in the emergency vet. $1500. And ya know what. It is all worth it to come home to a yappy lil buddy.
Kane is a douche - We may never know the full true story of the Buffalo cabbie incident. But it sounds like Kane is a douche. He got his third Stanley Cup ring this year. He plays for a hella team to be doing that and like him or not he is a big and talented part of that. Then he gets rape charges?!?! Now shit gets shady and he may have been set up BUT the fact remains not many people questioned it. How bad does your name have to be for people to not question whether your a rapist or not? The question was will he play this season. Yes and it seems he is inspired....
Hollywood is out of ideas - Seriously look at some of the most popular shows on TV. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, were did they come from? The whole superhero genre It is a golden age for comics. Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, X Men, Spider Man, Superman and Batman have all had great runs recently. There was two tries to make the Fantastic 4 and we all remember that Green Lantern even Ryan Reynolds couldn't save it. Also Zenoscope comics is doing an awesome job rehashing stories that have been around for centuries. Even Disney is simply taking all its cartoons and making them live action. Either way there was some big films come out this year. Jurassic World, Star Wars!! Furious 7, Avengers, Straight outta Compton, Hunger Games, Spectre, Ted 2. It was a good year for movies! Next will be even better....
