Welp the Oil have moved on, I watched game 6 or most of it. Other than that I am a bandwagon jumper, I get to wear my jersey at work so that's me being a fan. Now I do have a take away from that game. The Oil got lucky the Kings goaltending was weak. Not even comparing it to Quick on the first cup win when he was a beast but just in general. You HAVE to have great 'tending at least to win a cup, the Kings didn't. So far the Knights look like they do, will they be harder for the Oil. I think so but I think the Oil can take them to. Then it will be Kraken or Stars, I don't think it matters, I honestly think after taking out the Kings the Oil will at least make the final. I only figure the Kings or the Avs could take them out and they are now gone.... (That's not saying win) However I do think they got lucky, I think the Kings style of hockey could have taken them out had there been better goaltending.

In my 20s there is probably a lot of pics with me flipping the bird, also in those pics I was probably whiskey drunk. I have been listening to a lot of pods again. I have to say I really do like Dark Poutine. They cover some famous cases and some that I am surprise we don't hear more about. If you like true crime and Canada well worth a listen. I tried the Dark Paranormal, it is interesting, they tell the stories that listeners have sent in. SO I mean it is kind of freaky to hear some of them but nothing is too crazy, it won't likely make you lose sleep. I am looking for some good occult pods so if you know one leave a comment or msg me! Main accounts and the history of Myspace is alright. There is a lot of info but it kind of bounces all around. So I have mixed reviews, it is good and informative but the flow might not be the best. Of course I am back on Behind the Bastards. It is easily one of my fav pods. Robert is funny as fuck. Its always well written and full of shit most people probably didn't know. I do often get tired of the everyone is a Nazi! Or capitalism sucks! That is presented on this show. I mean if they REALLY wanted to do a good job they could put some communist's bastards on. I know they are stuck on Nazis but there are a lot of other bastards in this world...... I would like a really good Edmonton pod, is there one? I mean any I find don't try and hide their bias or even try and be balanced and accurate. Which is very annoying. I also tried Cerebro. An Xmen pod that breaks down character and history will be good right?? Yes & no. They fact is they do an amazing job! Too good. If I want to learn about a character I am sure an hour is more than enough. These guys go SO in depth like 2 deep. Down to breaking down panels even and influences. So this isn't trashing them, don't get me wrong I think they do an amazing job it is just too much for me lol.
Last Ball hockey season we did well. Hell I did well which doesn't happen to often, best season in last 10 years. Playoffs I scored a 1 timer in the first game. Something I don't think I have ever done and we won the game. Game 2 we had a goal waved off because the other team bitched. It was called a goal. The other team said kick and then they called it off. That goal would have tied the game with less than a minute but we lost 3-2. I will be honest, it did go off his foot. It was however NOT a DISTINCT kicking motion. I am gonna say I would hate to be a beer league ref, you can't go to video replay but I will say if you make a call stick to it, don't change cause someone bitches loudly. However elimination game 3 we won (I didn't play). So finals game 1 we lost (I didn't play, not that it changes anything) I was told how poorly it was reffed and how much was let go. It is a no contact league. It is hockey however and you know there will be some. These guys were flat out checking and hitting people "on the numbers" That should be a penalty, that is dangerous. We talked to the ref and he he said "If I called everybody for that you'd all be in the box" Okay then that's what needs to happen. If beer league hockey is getting dangerous it needs slowed down and if that means a few penalties oh well that's what it needs. No one is making the big leagues from this, we are all going to work tomorrow and being unhurt and able to collect a cheque is a lot more important that a game.... This isn't just me whining the other team was complaining to. I mean we weren't being clean either once we saw how the game was going. I think the refs finally caught onto it but we had done more "beaking" to them and it came back around. They started calling things and we were given 6 penalties to their 2. Granted 1 of ours yes 100% was a penalty, never cross check someone in front of a ref..... Anyway, they won game two 2-1 with two powerplay goals. Basically they were handed the game. It was embarrassing for the refs. Also that meant the won the div. They complained just as much as us about the reffing until they were on the powerplays. We out played them the entire time out shooting 35 - 17 but they did have a good goalie and well Powerplays killed us. So yes I am bitter....I will be missing a decent chunk of summer season but I will have another good season, that's my goal! So we are a couple weeks into summer. I have missed 3 games and likely miss the next 3 as well however started strong in the games I did play. Point a game..... Our team over the last few seasons has come along nicely. We have pretty steady lines. I am on the "Old Man" line. They guys who have been with the team years lol and I admit we have slowed down but the young guys make up for it. Looking back it is pretty crazy to think off and on played with this team and some of the same guys plus years. Things changed a lot used to be girlfriends coming to watch. Now its wives and kids for the old man line and newlyweds and girlfriends coming to watch the younger guys. Not nearly as many after game beers as there once was even with the young guys.
I got nada for movies this time. I mean Guardians is coming out, probably out by the time I publish this one and I am looking forward to it. I think they are overrated BUT they are fun. The first was better than the second and I am hoping this is somewhere in between. 1 was a lot of jokes, 2 seemed more serious and there are all these rumors someone dies (PLEASE NOT ROCKET!) meaning the fun might be gone and that would suck. I see I can buy Creed III and quantomania. I do want to see both but not sure I want to buy them until I have seen them. The Creed series has been amazing, it was a great way to keep the Rocky legacy going and I THINK I would watch 5 more. If they keep up the quality, I mean even Rocky did go down hill. Antman looks alright, I liked 1 and again 2 wasn't as good. 3 does look good but it is all over the news now that Kang has been in trouble, Disney is not going to keep an actor that causes issues but swapping him will be a hard one to swallow. He is the new big bad, I guess what I am saying is if they do it they better do it now. He was in Loki and Antman people probably can accept a swap but if they make a bunch more programs then swap it will be harder to swallow.
Wizards is closing! Everything went 50% off. If you don't know Wizards was a comic store off Whyte ave for as long as I have lived in Edmonton. Pretty sure they had other locations over the years as well. Years ago when I lived with "Pop Culture" (See prior blog for him) we hit Wizards then Movie Studio every pay day. Ya I am a nerd but that is a fond memory to, I miss picking up actual movies then DVDs to rent for the weekend. I introduced my friend "Evil" to Wizards and for many years he was a good customer to. My ex for my birthday one year bought a box of 100 issue run of Batman for $100 from Wizards for me. It really helped build up the Batman collection lol. Then the great falling out happened. So great in fact that I don't even remember what it was. I wanted a title added to my file and one taken out or something and they didn't do it. When I asked about it they were rude, so I simply walked away leaving my file and never coming back. Moved on to going to St Petes every payday rather than the comic and movie store. HAD I been better with $$ I could have gotten a lot of good issues back then. Ones I am paying a lot for now.... When I went back to collecting a few years back now, I admit Wizards was one of my first picks. I checked a few out. However an old manager of Wizards has a store now and it was much more conveniently located SO I went with them. I did occasionally stop in at Wizards a few times in the last few years and it was meh. Kinda dark and the service was not good. No I don't want a person acting like a used car salesmen and pestering me but at least saying hello would be cool..... So I did stop buy and get 50% off $100 worth of back issues, would have got more but it was well picked over. So I am not going to comment on any comics this month, just on the loss of an institution in Edmonton. Or at least it was in my mind. Even when I wasn't collecting IF there was something I did want, I always checked Wizards first and I did still stop in time to time just to see what was up in the comic world. Might as well add Sins Of Sinister just wrapped up. Fine a few notes on current titles..... I stick with whenever we see Mutants in the MCU Sinister better be the big bad.... Overall this series wasn't amazing. The finale was awesome, the slaughter of the rest of Marvel was pretty crazy but overall I wasn't as happy as I wanted to be!! However bringing Rasputin IV was cool although is she not going to be a bit overpowered for the main timeline?? Also Mother Righteous is cool and from the ending I am hoping we see more her as a villain. Also the people tossed into the pit should have a massive shake up for the mutants. I mean if Sabretooth can escape though I would think for Sinister or Charles it should be easy. Anyways I could rant more on comics but I am just gonna say Sins wasn't as awesome as I hope but I do now think it could have big effects. Okay I will add I bought the first 2 Xmen red TPB, so good! I now get why so many people are saying it is one of the best current titles around. I keep saying I am not a Storm fan but the more I read on her (And Cyke, I always say I don't like him either) great characters, always involved in big and amazing stories!
So the Last of Us was awesome. I recently saw that Jack Black would like to see a Red Dead movie. I would rather a Red Dead series. On HBO, to make it true to the game, I doubt other networks would do as good a job making it as gritty. IDK when to set it, when the Van Der Linde gang just gets together a young Dutch and Hosea with a really young John and Arthur. (You could make another game set even before that. Play as a young Dutch. You know he isn't going to get redemption but show how he became so bitter) I am thinking it would be the best time. Setting it after the games you are getting away from the Wild West, although telling Jacks story could be fun. Honestly I just want another Red Dead game to come up. Make it about Abigail, Jack, Charles I don't care just give us some more!! RDR2 was one of the best written games I have ever played and if a show was written as well, I would be all in. Same goes with the Mafia series. I would watch the hell out of Lincoln Clay story, before the war, when he was just a young black man in the south and Sammy was running things. Hell you wanna shove wokeness down peoples throats both those show ideas could do it and still be good.
I had a goal, have a goal to one day be a writer! For the world to see the stories that play out in my head play out on paper for you. I have been rather lax on trying to achieve this goal but I have got some reading in. A.P Beswick is a self published author. I have read his first two books and enjoyed them. They are fantasies and at the end a character is "revealed" I supposed, the first was King Arthur and now Blackbeard. There is an evil kingdom that I am sure they will come together and defeat. The fact he self published I think is pretty awesome. The fact is it is very well written and enjoyable, I was nervous self published might not be. I talk a lot of shit sometime but I am truly not sure I have the confidence to go that way, so kudos to him.
Honestly this month I have nothing for games. Just wrapped up Novigrad in Witcher 3 so actually going to play with my new PS5. I have started God of War Ragnarok and it is good, there is a lot more puzzle solving than I thought but I am enjoying it. Also SO MAD you can purchase Arkham Origins to play if you buy PS Plus. I don't really want to do that but if I don't I can't play origins. Just give me the option to buy and you'll get my money or else your gonna get nothing. Also I bought Final Fantasy IV, yes the graphics are as awful as I remember but I have to play it!! When people ask my favorite games I always say shit like Witcher or Red Dead and I forget this classic. Honestly this might be my all time favorite game. It blew my mind playing this in junior high. I was used to Mario and Zelda, straight forward games. This had a massive plot! Video games could have a story!!! It blew my mind, I have said it before I can play games that don't have the greatest graphic or gameplay if they have a story I get invested in. Without this game I may not have actually got into gaming, so even though the graphics are hurting me I cannot wait to get into it again! If you haven't played it, its like a fantasy Red Dead Redemption. You start as a dark knight doing bad shit but of course by the end you are the white knight!
So I have a personal "social media" code I live by. OR at least do my very best. I talk a lot on politics and shit but I refuse to say something about a persons appearance, health, family. Basically try and stay on topic and not make things personal. Even for twats like Justin Trudeau or Notley when they are using social media as it was originally designed for. I mean when people wanna say hey look its my birthday, my wife or kid did something cool blah blah blah there is no reason to be a dick to them. Remember when Facebook first came out and it was fun! Like you looked for a good pic and posted legit things you were doing! Long before there were influencers, or politics or scams to get personal info when social media was just fun!!! Ya if people still use it like that I think people should STFU and let people enjoy it. I don't like when people mix the two though. There is a guy on twitter, constantly saying dumb shit. Not just shit I don't agree with but plain old dumb shit. He recently had twin girls, they are cute and his posts on them well, I could never say something shitty about that. I am happy for him for that. Recently he posts he is going on paternity leave, that society has grown and changed for the better that men can stay home! He is right, cannot argue that BUT the jab I get to watch my girls grow up. Fuck off. I know a lot of good men who have worked their bags off, their entire lives. Had children and still got to see them grow up. Sadly even guy who are gone for a week or two at a time. Its about making time to be a family not just I get to stay home whoopie! I was annoyed but for once I kept my mouth shut, there at least.

Whats new on the teley? Is it teley or telly if the British say it...? Anywho Super excited for the Electric Mayhem show on Disney plus. The previews look awesome and it has so much potential, I hope it is done well and not just Disney milking more of my childhood for $$$. I will say done right it will be good, lets hope for that. Ashoka is another one I am excited for, but I really feel like I should finish Clone Wars and Rebels in the next few months before it comes out, which might be hard that is a lot of TV to finish. While a lot of people have whined about the Star Wars content of the last few years I have really loved Mando, like Boba Fett, loved Kenobi so I THINK they will do this one right. Also as a TERF cannot wait for the new Harry Potter series. HBO seems extreme for a kids show, not sure about that but they do put out good shit so I have faith it will be good. I mean the first few books really are more kiddy and it does get much darker and maybe more like HBO material in the later books. I just wonder if it will be GoT style, will they include a lot of other back stories and things from the books that the movies just couldn't? Anyways I am sure it will be good and I do feel bad for the dumbasses who won't watch because science upsets them. Still into Supernatural but may slow down on it for awhile, like a LOT of shows 5 seasons in and it is starting to get repetitive. It did get good reviews for the entire run so I will finish but might slow down. Restarted Justified that was such a good series and would love to watch the Shield but with a million things coming out that might have to wait until next winter..... I have to comment on the hate Season 3 of Mando got now that it is done. I didn't want to watch it break down into a bunch of cameos & it didn't. Yes it has some goofy ones but guess what ITS A FUCKING KIDS SHOW! It isn't House of the Dragon (HBO) TWD (AMC) or Mayans (Fox FX) it is a Disney program. Do you know how the Disney company started? Or that their biggest properties are family friendly?? Its not deep television! It was a fun season and another thing to keep in mind its called The Mandalorian. Not Adventures in Bounty hunting and babysitting. Ya space Pikachu is awesome, huge draw but its still Mandos show. They got back their home planet. To dumbasses saying the season had no point, it literally had the biggest point of all the seasons so far. It isn't a show about space wizards, it is about Mando.... Gawd damn! Anyways done with that rant just had to get it off my chest.

Again you had a tennis court, your not from a trailer please stop. Its like Trump pretending he knows the common mans struggles. Its an act..... I say this as someone who owned Kid Rock CDs back in the day. Ya he is catchy I admit it, like Nickelback or herpes.
Finished another class, one day I will be done college..... This one was sustainable business. Before it started I figured it meant building a business that will sustain itself or not go broke in the first few years. Building something solid.... I was wrong! It is about building an environmentally & socially sustainable business. NOW of course I take issues with somethings. Making the claim that people go into business to make the world a better place is wrong. Not in theory but in reality. MOST people go into business to give themselves a better life. They see a potential to make cash and jump on it. However if you start a business and see a way to make the world a better place, well that is a good thing! I had never heard of a triple bottom line before. Financial, social and environmental. Fact is it isnt a bad idea at all. Companies should be looking at that. Don't kid yourself though at the end of the day if a company doesn't turn a profit is won't exist. However looking at sourcing and work practices and such are something that really is a more modern concept and it is a good idea. I actually walked away from this course with some better ideals I think. I mean I am still a for profit capitalist. I just do think as a whole we can look at the way we do business and do better. Also it opened my eyes to a few neat ideas, charity works and things that I think are great ideas and hell maybe here in Edmonton we could try them out. Here is a link to a hella good documentary. Simple fact some of it I think is garbage, I am only willing to go so far in business but a lot of it has some great ideas charity wise. Pay attention to the East Vancity parts and what people are doing to make it a better place.
I love hoodies always have a bunch of them but some are getting old and worn. A few stains all and in all it was time for some new ones. I ordered a Slumerican one online. I like things maybe not everyone will have and I haven't seen any in Edmonton yet. I like it just plain black with the name BUT maybe its a states thing and they don't do big ass hoodie likes us up in the cold north. It is smaller than I like. I couldn't wear something under it to go skiing or anything like that, which sucks I won't be able to wear it as much as I want. I mean it fits but small, even my wife said it looks kinda funny wearing a hoodie that isn't oversized. So IF you are ordering a Slum hoodie or hell I assume any online go big. Madchild is on tour again. I have had tickets a couple times to Swollen Members and each time couldn't make it. This time I won't be able to go see Mad either but I would like to. I can be honest I haven't been a huge fan of a lot of his newer stuff but each album has had a couple of good songs. Between listening to a lot of him and KO this year I am wondering how many other great Canadian acts are not getting the press they should. I mean we all know Drake, Nickelback, Bieber, Shania and sadly Neil Young is Canadian as well but how many other great talents are not getting the light they should? I found a playlist of old ass Eminem. There was some really good little known tracks on it I haven't heard in years. Looking back it is crazy how big he was in the early 2000s and how much music he actually put out. Finally heard Infinite. I am mixed on it, you can hear he is a clever rapper but it isn't Slim Shady. Had Marshal stuck that way I am guessing he is still a line cook in Detroit. Also been on a Blues kick again. It blows my mind how good a lot of it is and how much of it has been sampled years later to become billboard hits. I thought I knew music but just listening to a 4 hour play list showed me how clueless I really am. Also King 810 has caught my ear, kind of like Slipknot did. A lot of it I have no interest BUT the songs I like I really, really like and they are on heavy repeat! They are very experimental, some rap, some metal, some that reminds me of old cartoons. Who knew songs that mostly seem to be about violence could be so catchy!
